(I lost my library when I came to Israel in 2003. Deep regret doesn't describe the loss.)

For obvious reasons, The Textbooks of Orthopaedic Medicine I & II by Dr. James Cyriax is first on the list. Please read my remarks on Jimmy Cyriax and his works. In essence, his work is pioneering and beautifully written. All his writings deserve enormous respect. (He certainly honored me by including my diagnosis of synovial entrapment in the hip immediately after I presented it in the Canary Islands, in 1972. He Indexes it under, as I recall 'Ligamentum teres entrapment.) His methods of injection, his essential initial examination of the joints, especially the shoulder, are essential. His explanation of "Coronary Ligament Sprain" in the knee is unique.

On the other hand, the work is flawed by his concept, his misconceptions, about traction and manipulation. He tried to give diagnoses, at times, for conditions that do not exist when he should have limited himself to describe what he was finding. Still, essential books.

Positional Release Therapy - Assessment & Treatment of Musculoskeletal Dysfunction by Kerry J. D'Ambrogio & George B. Roth. Pub. Mosby 1997, ISBN 0-8151-0096-5 came my way as a delightful surprise.   The authors stay close to Dr. Larry Jones' Counterstrain while weaving a well reading philosophy and approach in their writing.

Functional Soft Tissue Examination and Treatment by Manual Methods - The Extremities by Warren I. Hammer, DC, MS, DABCO. Pub Aspen Publishers, Inc. 1991 ISBN 0-8342-0185-2. This book is excellent.
